Our goal.

Our consortium aims to obtain key insights into the functions of L,D-peptidases, also called YkuD Domain peptidase or YDPases, in the bacterial envelope architecture. We defined four aims accordingly: 1) shedding light on the roles of LdtA, LdtB and LdtC in E. coli; 2) investigating the catalytic mechanisms of LD-peptidases; 3) exploring the role played by L,D-peptidases in bacterial predation; 4) investigate the function of L,D-peptidases and their role in the detachment of beta-barrels and the reticulation of PG in the pathogen B. abortus.
